Fairly good, common, cheap routers, with a decent amount of features. (Note DSL200 is very poor) Xtra have put a customised interface onto some of the D-link routers, but still fine to setup for any ISP.D-Link DSL-200 - ADSLGeek Comments
the STATUS light is supposed to flash and that is normal. Not stable at all, based on newsgroup feedback, probably one of the worst routers sold in NZ. 6 separate stability issues with this router.

Product Warnings
MAC WARNING do not try to install these on ANY macintosh computers. If you have issues with a USB Driver install on some versions of Macintosh you have to reinstall the entire O/S. IInet from Australia learnt this the hard way. INSTALL WARNING: you install the drivers, then asks you to plug in the hardware. Once it is plugged in you HAVE to run through the found new hardware wizard, or they will just not work.
STABILITY ISSUES: (x6) If you can't connect there are 6 known issues with this modem. Click here for more detail. According to their helpdesk, the most common issue by far, is people downloading firmware for US, or overseas. Make sure that you are using driver ver 1.08 or later. You can download the latest driver. from driver section he D-Link 200 has some unconfirmed power management issues when used with some VIA motherboards. (in particular, variants of the VIA VT8366/VT8233 chipset). The modem intermittently 'drops dead' with no lights, and no activity, a reinstall fails to find the modem, or the modem won't install, or be detected at all, or will be detected incorrectly). We believe the problem is some of the latest VIA USB controllers, they don't seem to be able to manage the resources required for a D-Link 200 USB modem. Its well known that the USB modems can use up to 80% of the bandwidth of a USB controller, but no other motherboard seems to have the problem.
POWER ISSUE: Some of the D-link routers have a reasonable number of fault returns. Seems to be a power issue where it just dies. Just call D-Link helpdesk and organise a return under warranty.
FIRMWARE ISSUE: Earlier versions of firmware seemed to have some issues with stability possibly the ITEX issue with the Alcatel DSLAMs. - Newer versions of firmware may be more stable.
