Manufacturer reviewDynalink - ADSLGeek comments:

Dynalink modems and support are good solid modems, and a good price. They mainly use a Broadcom Chipset for most of their modems, some of the older routers used a Globespan and even some used Texas Instruments, but all the current chips use Broadcom as a rule, and future Broadcom models will be based on BCM 6338 & BCM 6358.

This is one of my favourite cheap modems and is given away free by a lot of the NZ ISPs.

This unit is actually the same base unit as the Netcomm NB6.

Some people have commented that the NB5 has a slightly larger case, so is better for cooling, though I have not confirmed this, nor heard this other than forum opinions.

Note that I have offered this router for sale, as it is one of my favorite. Note that the buy now link is for the 1320v6 (which has larger black case, and looks nicer).

Be sure to use the most recent version of firmware because there is a FIRMWARE WARNING warning put that if you have too many P2P connections on the old version of firmware this crashes the Dynalink modem

Warning  Product Warnings

BLUE STICKER BATCH ISSUE This modem had a bad batch of routers that were sold between Sept 2005 to Jan 2006. About 15-20% of these were faults and may have a broad range of faults with them, ranging from faulty power supplies, random things locking up. If it has a blue sticker refer to Dynalink helpdesk immediately. The routers with a yellow sticker are fine. OLD FIRMWARE AND P2P ISSUE For versions of firmware that are older than 3.28 this firmware did not deal well with P2P programs, as they tend to lock up many ports to the router. (Note the latest firmware version is 3.29A and this has much better reporting of router status).
