Netgear DG834G information:
Modem/Router Features:
Firewall- Wireless Compatible
- ADSL2/2+ Compatible
- ADSL LAN or Switch
How to login:
- Go to http://192.168.0.1/ in your web browser and it should prompt you to login.
- The default username is admin
- The default password is password
How to add PPPoA connection:
When logging in you get a setup wizardChoose 'No, I want to Configure the Gateway Myself' and hit Next.
Choose Yes for requires a login
Choose PPPoA for the encapsulation method
Enter your ADSL username and password
Click Apply and then choose ADSL Settings from the main menu.
Set the Multiplexing Method to VC-Based
Change VPI from 8 to 0
Change VCI from 35 to 100
Click Apply
How to check ADSL status:
From the Main Menu, under Maintenance, select Router StatusThe sync rates are shown in the "Modem" section at the bottom. You can also check VPI and VCI there.

Good stable modem. Common in NZ.
Product Warnings:
I've had heat issues with this router, intermittent data pausing etc. I mounted it vertically with bluetack, and got good airflow around it (and one time had to BLOW on it!!). The other fix is to log into the router, and disconnect/reconnect the PPP connection.
